🎨 What is a body tape shoot?

A body tape shoot is a unique, bold and artistic form of photography where custom-designed tape patterns are applied directly to the body, creating eye-catching visual effects that celebrate body confidence and creativity.

🧵 What tape is used?

A mix of classic tapes (black, white, red, blue), reflective mirror tape, and colour-shifting tape are available depending on your desired look.

⏱️ How long does the shoot take?

Depending on the experience selected, taping and the shoot itself will take around 2 to 3 hours.
We recommend allowing at least 1 additional hour in case of any creative adjustments or delays.
If you're hiring a hair and makeup artist (HMUA), please factor in an extra 1-1.5 hours to the schedule.

📍 Where do the shoots take place?

Shoot locations vary by season:
- Warmer months: Outdoor locations such as Brighton Beach.
- Colder months: Various studios across Melbourne, including photography, pole, and dance studios.

🧼 How do I prepare?

- Do NOT fake tan before the shoot (it affects tape adhesion; tan can be added in retouching).
- Arrive with clean, dry skin (avoid lotions/oils).
- Wear loose-fitting clothing and underwear to prevent marks or lines on the skin before taping.

❌ Does the tape hurt when removed?

Tape removal is generally gentle, though individual experiences can vary depending on your skin sensitivity.
The removal process is similar to removing a bandaid, some may experience mild discomfort, while others find it easy.
We take great care during application to minimise irritation, and no clients have reported issues with removal to date.

💄 Is makeup included?

Makeup is not included, but basic makeup is generally sufficient for most shoots.
You're welcome to book a professional HMUA, which adds around 1-1.5 hours to your session.

🖋️ What about tattoos?

Tattoos are absolutely welcome! Each tape design is tailored to complement your existing body art — not cover it up.
Shaun will carefully craft a pattern that works with your tattoo placement, colour, and linework to enhance your overall look.

Whether your ink is bold or minimal, we'll make sure the tape design highlights it in a visually striking way.

🖼️ How do I choose my images?

After your shoot, Shaun will provide a private gallery of unedited images for you to review.
You can select your favourites for professional retouching.
If you prefer, Shaun can also shortlist the best options to make the selection process easier — some clients enjoy browsing all images, while others appreciate a curated set.

Please note that unedited or unchosen images may not be used or published without Shaun's explicit permission.
Retouched images you select are yours to use freely.

➕ Can I get extra images?

Absolutely! Additional retouched images can be purchased after your shoot for $50 each.
Many clients choose to add a few more favourites once they've seen the full gallery.

✨ What does retouching include?

- Blemish removal
- Skin smoothing techniques (without blurred effect)
- Light body shaping
- Advanced retouching available for additional cost

🫣 Am I naked

It's natural to feel a little nervous before a tape shoot — after all, it's a bold and empowering experience!
While it's true that you won't be wearing traditional clothing, steps are taken to ensure your privacy and comfort at all times.

Shaun will prepare a V-shaped strip of tape to cover your genitals.
You'll will be able to apply this yourself in a private space — either in a bathroom or using a popup change tent if on location.
Once that's in place, Shaun will apply the rest of the tape design.
For sensitive areas, he will ask for your assistance or provide guidance so you can apply the tape yourself where needed.

The focus is always on your comfort, safety, and consent — and many clients leave the session feeling confident and empowered.
If you feel more comfortable having a support person or chaperone with you during the shoot, you're more than welcome to bring someone along.
